Endless Path

Endless Path

A Poem by Lindsay T
"

This is a short poem I wrote a few minutes ago. It's pretty abstract, but I hope you enjoy it.

"
The winding path stretches out in front of me,
Vines and cobblestone, as far as the eye can see.
Lush tropical trees stand proudly on each side,
With thick wooden trunks, nearly a meter wide.

My footsteps are heavy, dragging each toe,
It's as if my legs don't know where to go.
What is the purpose, why the big fight?
All I want is my soul, for once, to feel light.

But it's hard, when the path has no end,
My eyes don't see a single road bend.
It's just step after step, keep on walking,
Even when the nature around me is talking.

I keep on going, towards that light,
The golden rays are shining, the promise is bright.
I don't slow down, hoping that then,
Maybe the path will have meaning again.

Sometime we seem we are walking in circles. Hard to judge what we done and where we are going. I like the logic of the poem.

The golden rays are shining, the promise is bright."
Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

Currently going through the same thing, I know exactly how you feel. Wonderful flow and great rhythm. I enjoyed reading it.

I like how you take your reader through the process and lead them to see a better day as your speaker seeks that special moment. I also like the images that you build with the vines and the cobblestones. You showed the ability to build a landscape and include you reader in that world. I think that shows that you are attentive to detail and that you are perceptive.

there's this chinese proverb that goes 'it's not the destination that matters in the end, it's the journey,' as in, it's who you became along the way :) Hearteningly beautiful
