Drowning in the Dark

Drowning in the Dark

A Poem by lindsayb6
"

A catharsis for people that have been hurt by people who claim to love them

"
who cares if you killed me
if there was no body left behind
who cares if you killed me
if it’s only on the inside

when I was lost in the darkness
and called for you in fear
but you weren't there
you killed more than my pride
when I was dying before your eyes
yet you still cast me aside
still claiming our fates were woven in the tides
never grasping my self inside
I had to bide my time
and wait for you to leave me behind

when I was drowning in the cold dark
and I called out to you in desperation
but you ignored my plea
I knew then
it was not meant to be
because it was when
you refused to see me
that our connection
with no chance to mend
had met its fated end

I’m no professional writer by any means, just an emotional gal using poetry as catharsis so please be kind!:) I’m not the happiest of where it ended but the theme remains the same.
