Thomas my friend

Thomas is fifty four years old working as a contractor in a private company. Thomas is pretty happy in general and he has a very balanced life. He enjoys the luxury of an intact nuclear family. Thomas gifted with two beautiful children a girl and a boy and younger spouse which his friends always make fun of him whenever his wedding anniversary comes. I felt some of them even jealous of him about his life and his beautiful wife. This is my random thoughts nothing to do with truth.
Thomas is well balanced when it comes to finances at the same time he is not at all greedy for money which makes him comparatively a better human in general.
When I Met him for the first time we were in high school. I was 16 years old same age as his. We were in our early teens. We were in an institution run by the Catholic Church and John sir our principal was very strict especially about talking in the hall ways , leaving late after classes and after talent shows. Our principal never liked us hanging around after the classes in the school premises. We felt like as if we were in elementary school. Therefore there was not that much communication between me and Thomas. We both said occasional hi and bye, how are you and how is family that's all. Years went by and all of my friends travelled through their Life journey and career path in different directions at own pace and choices.
Thomas was not in architecture field in the beginning but later on he joined in an architecture company. He has his undergraduate degree in architecture but his masters was in literature. He was a school teacher in the beginning and later he came to construction business.Thomas worked as an architect as well as a contractor. He wrote a book about architect in collaboration-with an architect from Germany. Thomas kept that book just like the best investment in his career and perhaps in his own life. Thomas worked in different Church groups and community group groups especially in relation with the empowering the youth. He also taught in a private college as a temporary teacher and that gave him a group of students and some of them where from his own church. He used to visit those students and their families as they were from the same neighborhood. In nutshell he was a great soul with the family values and integrity.
My cousin was the sister-in-law of Thomas. My cousin asked my number from my sister in law to give to Thomas so that I can be in high school What’s up group. Thomas added me in our high school group. We talked one or two times. I really wished we talked few years back not when I am a new widow and in mourning stage. So the conversation went like this how are you , how is your family , how are you managing all these stressors, where you work , what is your work , how is work etc.
Later on we discussed about Youth and their challenges especially when it comes to alcoholism and drug addiction. It was random topic Thomas had a lot from his plate to put towards the topic. He told me that he worked among the youth to help them to get out of addiction and sometimes it was very hard for those population to get better from that State. I was so surprised that he talked like a medical person and his knowledge level was astonishing. I had similar conversation with my another friend years back and she was a counselor for those individuals with the personality disorders and addictions. I was amazed how much knowledge a lay man has in these topics. We talked about few lives lost from those bridges especially about a particular young girls life. Some says that girl jumped from the bridge and died others say she was fallowed by someone similar to hit men and she got scared and jumped off the bridge. It is very ambiguous and complicated. There were stories she had relationship with a person and the person is probably behind her suicide. At times people make stories to hurt the living souls and there is no substance in it. We left the subject as it is. Every Friday Thomas is extra busy as it is the payday for the employees and he has around thirty employees under him.
Life brings different souls into our lives at some turning points of our lives and some souls are very genuinely nice. Thomas is a very good soul especially in my life. I called Thomas few minutes ago as usual he was very busy as it is a payday for his employees. We talked about around three or four minutes and he asked me to write about him when I get a chance. I wrote as he asked and I transferred Thomas I know for very limited time to these pages. I will come with different and detailed version of Thomas in my next story. Now I am in language learning spree and fin as l destination most likely learning Sanskrit and Mandarin if everything goes well. All for enhancing myself as a writer. Total 8 languages is the goal prior hitting the grave yard. Malayalam. Hindi. English. Urudu. Arabic almost under the belt. I joined in an academy to learn languages. Spanish, Sanskrit and mandarin is in the bucket list. Now you got the depth of inspiring me to become a writer I hope .
