I did not believe in poetry until last week

A Poem by Linda alexander
"

This poem dedicated for my favorite poet and my best friend

"
I did not believe in poetry until last week
I thought the poets are lazy bumps who float in their dreams
I told my heart poets are not great in changing through actions
I thought constructions worker is the most amazing person
Now looking through these poems, I feel the heartbeat of warriors
Yes, the warriors shouting loudly for the victory
I read few poems, watched few poets
Wept like a child when I watched the poet left this world so early
Wordsworth and his personal tragedies , it is really killing me
I can not believe all these poets had a horrible battle in their lives
I know few poets dedicated their life for this field of poetry
One poet's two lines comparing river and life was with me from sixth grade
Still, I did not believe in poetry until last week
I did not travel through ever living poems
I simply read some poems some people wrote whom I do not even know
If that some poems startled me this much, I am forced to believe in poetry
I officially telling the world, I am trying to become a poet
I know I am in neonatal period, will pass infancy, toddler, adolescent and adulthood
Yes, before my allowed time in this stage finishes
