My teenage son

My teenage son

A Poem by Linda alexander
"

My teen age son testing my abilities as parent

"
I used to look at him and dream a lot
I used to laugh until my belly hurts when I see his plays on stage
I liked his out of the way nuisances, but not challenging ones
I prayed for him all throughout his life
I supported him almost through out his life
He tested me, challenged me, and annoyed me
He has no problem to push my wrong buttons
He has no issues to act like as he is me
He has no issues to act like he is the boss and I am his employee
He has no issues to break the rules whenever he can
He has no issues to waste the money for college
He has no issues to tell me that he is ahead of game when he was not
He has no issues to come to me whenever he wants money
He has no issues to use our gallon of gas for his friend when I had none
He has no issues to tell me he will do ten things same time
He has no issues to tell me he will stay under my roof, won't obey my rules
I used to look at him and dream a lot
