Blurry Eyed

Blurry Eyed

A Poem by Donald Meikle

A wheelbarrow full of rain

A redwing blackbird that won't shut up

another chipmunk not long for this world

a garden that's grown' grass faster than goodies

a gardener's figure disappearing in tears of love

Summer's just around that next flowery bush

Thank God for that next flowery bush, Donald.

And I know, it's like that here, too. The birds, the dog, the weeds, the love...
