Just FineA Poem by Donald MeikleAnother Sunday morn Another time to yawn My favorite time of week To take the time to speak And find the time to rhyme The coffee's only dregs in cups The empty pot is clean I simply dream of buttercups In peeks of Springs that's been The sun is bright We slept the night She's dressing now and clean The steak and eggs Refried mash and beans with onions and garlic And crunchy bits of fat are settling as I contemplate another chocolate high As you can see I gave up rhyme again but I'll get by. © 2012 Donald Meikle |
