Yet another Shudda Wudda

Yet another Shudda Wudda

A Poem by Donald Meikle

I feel tears well above my eyes

I guess it's really no surprise

Regrets add up as yet I rhyme

And now I feel there isn't time

God came and gave us Earth in seven

We promptly then invented heaven

Bent in prayer and full of lies

We all believed in paradise

With all a world of every season

Some of us yet follow reason

and gratefully we bend in thanks

On ocean beach and river banks

Or simply stand beneath a tree

And wish we'd said this on and on

To point this out to everyone

So they could think and then be free

To follow reason thankfully

I can totally imagine a beat in the background while someone is rapping this poem out.
Cool title too.

Good to see Donald raging at the moon in his usual feisty, honest style. One day a USA politican will employ him if he's got any sense. Obama, are you listening?

I read this over a few times, and I have to admit, I am way over due to go to sleep but I feel that there is more to say here, if it is all false, why...tell me more...

Interesting. Love the flow and the quiet rage that lies behind the content. Logic is good. God is good. Can God and logic both exist? Do we bow to one and shut out the other? Can ther be a logical God? Or is it just magical thinking to try to apply logic to God when His existence doesn't situate itself within the realms of standard logic?

:)

Good write man.
Gets the brain working.

I ought to bend in thanks and prayer more often. This is a gem, Donald. Your always a treasure.

Wonderfully put, wonderfully written .. moral with meter.

There's a reason for reason .. we need to remember that; thanks for the reminder in yet another fine poem.
