A Total Waste of Time

A Total Waste of Time

A Poem by Donald Meikle
"

Rant

"

First let it be known that I am a United States citizen by my choice

I would now like to assert my opinion on a mosque being built at ground zero.

I am all for it.

I am also all for surrendering everything to the fanatics that caused 9/ 11

Anyone would be better than our present congress and administration.

A bloodless revolution is an impossibility in this day and age.

Freedom is a dream our forefathers fought for.

It is no longer possible.

The constitution they fought and died for is totally ignored by their replacements.

I would rather sit in my woods with my weapons and fight to my death for the same rights they did, and I will.

I've been a registered republican in Massachusetts all my voting life, so I'm really quite familiar with a useless vote.

It seems the rest of the country is joining me in futility.

I'm not really a republican. I totally believe in Ayn Rand's philosophy of life.

This is a potent poem, very direct and strong in expressing your opinion. I love the various line lengths.

Donald! Well I never! I just loved this grumpy, raging old man rant. I feel like this so often in the UK, as liberalism removes the spine by the minute! No wonder my poor little red coats had to vamoose with the Meikles on parade. He He He! Meikle for President. I'll vote for him!

As a Brit and as someone with an open mind and heart, I'm amazed and shocked that a mosque should be built so near to that tragic site. How any administration, no matter it's head, could allow such an insult and stab in the back to the relatives of the people who lost their lives via the hands of terrorists is absolutely beyond me, and I know there are others here who find it hard to understand too.

'Freedom is a dream our forefathers fought for.' Our modern day freedom is governed by the people who pull the strings

I know your writing is written somewhat tongue in cheek but you mean every word .. thank goodness for people who still use their own democratic right to speak out.

To be honest, i don't know anything about Ayn Rand's philosophy on life and yearn for something sensible and middle of the ground in American politics, however, i was astounded by the mosque... Sure Obama said the right thing legalistically but he totally missed the moral point. He did not feel what people feel about it. On the other hand, an offensive scottish comedian (are there any non-offensive scottish comedians) pointed out that a mosque at 9/11 guarentees no repeat performance. it's a purile joke but probably true. What i think is that we should challenge the motives of the mosque builders...they're saudi fanatics... almost certainly wahhabi... and, they want to call it Cordoba house..Cordoba, the city in spain where the muslims burnt down the church and built a mosque over the top. That's symbolism and symbolism is dangerous.

it's not a rant Donald, it's the truth...there's and answer; it's in our pocketbook, but we're not smart enough to use it...maybe there's no 'we'
