Nirvana's Quest

Nirvana's Quest

A Poem by Donald Meikle

Soft and silken belly fur
Trembling rumble steady purr
Curled up cuddled hugging heat
Stretching clutching kneading feet
Hunger fed relaxed content
Deep in satisfaction spent
Feline felicitations vent
I fondle her with envy

What a brilliant description of a beloved cat, with your usual grace and eloquence in a well-crafted structure that frames the poem. I loved the clause, 'Feline felicitations.'
