Where in Hell is Willie Nelson?

Where in Hell is Willie Nelson?

A Poem by Donald Meikle

Hey Willie howya doin?
How I hope y'doin' fine
I haven't heard a word of you
In too damn long a time

So I'm sittin' here just wishin'
That there's really nothin' wrong
And someday like tomorrow
You'll sing another song

There's lotsa folk that's singin'
and some songsa kinda fine
But I haven't heard a word of you
In too damn long a time

So I'll roll me up a pinner
Sit back and pick a song
To maybe pen a winner
That'll make you sing along

Oh it's fun to sing a song
and it's great to sing along
So come on back where you belong
How I hope there's nothin' wrong

The rhythm in this is just great. Generically, this is the perfect country song, the accent has a musicality to it, the refrain: 'In too damn long a time' is thought-provoking. Another great write...but what else would anyone expect from you.
