A Poem by Donald Meikle

Seriously contemplating calling it quits
Wanted to leave a mark to show I exist
(Not existed)
Have no (zip, nil nowt) ability to sell
Think there's a making of a novel in
combining stories written
Am brash enough to think a collection
(selection) of my works
Would be a profitable endeavor
Seriously contemplating calling it quits
Just an ol' dawg that won't turn a trick
Was that a bat or a late swallow?
Pour me another

Callin it quits ? That usually means somethings going to break your way...and why not a collection of your works ?
take a risk
take a chance
ain't nothing
but a chance to dance..

hm, nice usage of words " (zip, nil nowt)" ---I learnt again something from you. I love it.
I didn't find "ol' dawg" I know daw- a thievery bird or something. old something? Explain to me.
This poem is is another reflection, you are having doubts of the moment, you are looking positioning yourself, thinking what for this writing, and what is going to be, waiting for an impuls. I always like your poetry.
