Tense Presented

Tense Presented

A Poem by Donald Meikle
"

Free as a bird

"
Rolling in whiteline freedom
Tasting the fog's wet kisses
A hawk screams and wheels in explosive joy
Songbirds scatter and disappear
Wind pauses in disarray
Echoes of falcon screams
Shiver in spines attune to bagpipes
Life in present tense
Soaring on highways of free
As surf echoes in a wayfaring mind
Rolling on moon pulled sea
Soaring forever
Free

wow, Donald, you birng high-speed and soft-edged sensuality of the poetic expression of this wonderful poem, you are my favorite author of lyrical poetry, alsways with a brush of sentimentality. I love it. Also thanks for your contribution to my chicken-crossed-road piece, you are a part of the piece, too (I also posted my contribution). Be well.

That's an excellent comparison - "life is in present tense." It's so very true, too. Your imagery, fast and frantic, is quite well-rounded and it's hard not to dive deep into your words and soak them in. Great combination of grammar, action and thought!
