Regret

Regret

A Poem by Donald Meikle

And all the shattered shards of her
Spinning glitter in the neon
Reflections of other rends
dancing in moments of then
Cold sand cold rain
manic moonless stardust
stuttering uttering teardrops
In all the spinning shards of her
Drawn to dance again
Mirrored smoky ghosts
Of how it was
And all the shattered shards of her
Coalesce for just an instant
In peripheral torment

the images here are very appealing to me. Without clearly focusing
on her, we are still able to see so much.

This brings a feeling of sadness which of course is the reason you entitled this piece Regret. The "If Only's" are quite apparant, and yet if things become as they once were, your would still stand looking at the broken pieces, for a time put back together, to know that they would once again shatter. Very nicely done and my take only on your words. I may be all wet in my thinking. LOL I enjoyed regardless.

Blessings, Lesa
