Jill

Jill

A Poem by Donald Meikle

To write in words that do not slip aside

Twisting into meanings circumscribe

To boldly stand and steadfastly aver

That you are there and I am ever here

To slip the truth of inner feelings into now

Wondering if ever I knew how

To put this passioned feeling into word

As well as you can skip around what's heard

I've known you for a while in cyber space

And know I canna quite keep up the pace

But the knowing of your feelings keeps me whole

I just wish to tell it better through this ever twisting  hole

OMG donald... this is really her! what a wonderful poem.. I adore it... favorite.. I think.... not tht you captured her exquisite writing, you captured her wonderful personality and you created beauty - within your writing: "To write in words that do not slip aside"------this is accurate what a great way to say.. and what a beginning. Yes her feelings on paper are touchable.. and the reader feels it, too. Great tribute to her! Be well.

A beautiful tribute to a remarkable and inspirational writer and friend. I've never read anyone who writes like she does. But for that matter, I've never read anyone who writes like you do. I've never told you, meant to several times... I so enjoy your work!

I do not know Jill. I am pretty new to the Cafe but I do know that I am sure she was so pleased to have such a lovely dedication written in honor of her work.

Beautiful

Wow, I am overwhelmed by your communication of affection. You have most definitely shown your warmth through words that are heart warming. I understand your desire to connect on a deeper level. I'm sure this was a welcome read for your special lady. ~ Jude :-)
