WC Friends

A Poem by Donald Meikle

Ethereality holds untouchable unseen friends
Busily living private lives.
They pause to create word pictures,
Or to immerse themselves in others' works.
Innermost thoughts and feelings are opened for review.
Souls bared and shared in instant wended wonder
One such friend brought me to this site from another
Where we had exchanged soul sightings
Others have met me and I them
In the same review swap system.
Lives are shared in cyberspace
So closely as to be unbelievable.
The real world is being changed because of it
This internet transcends normality
To make us dream of tomorrow's
Promise, ......... together.

My great grandfather said that if you could count your friends on one hand then you were indeed a lucky man. He would never have imagined the wealth I feel here.

Ah darling . . .! Such soft and gentle musings ..... it is a phenomenon that sometimes scares me. How many times I have felt the touch of your hand . . . but will I ever really get to feel the touch of your hand . . . how many years has it been now?
