Hawking

Hawking

A Poem by Donald Meikle

clouds race to hide the moon
closing the sky and fogging below
Flashes and rumbles distort distance
as ever she flees into self
shivered frustration clings to ire
as dissonance dances diversion
Darkness consumes and contracts
Deterred and determined in flight
Soul searching into the night
A spectator caught between acts

Perfect - the rhythm, the vocabulary and the sentiment. Perfect.
