An ode to thee

An ode to thee

A Poem by Donald Meikle

I know it does not have to rhyme
and I don't have to take the time
the rhythm does however matter
As all my thoughts so ever clatter
Into this world of ever change
Aswirl in constant disarrange
It seems the constancy of not
Has once again retied the knot
That holdeth me so close to thee
rattling on so tied and free
           Oh happy me

I am such a perfectionist that I love the challenge of the former. I do, however, appreciate all forms if it's well written. Words of the heart need not be fenced in by stricture, but they need to be sincere and complete.
