Window Wishing

A Poem by Donald Meikle

Window Wishing

Tight rolled leaves defy the cold

Patiently await the warmth of sun

No hint of breeze neath stone still cloud

And yet the buds still standing proud

Aloof from Spring not yet begun

Expecting rising flow of sap

Tight fisted rage of life exposed

To Winter's test as others rest

in bearded warmth and muffled wrap

penning words to fit the wait

For winter's cold to soon abate

To see exploding green of Spring

Or simply January thaw

Impatiently I scream for more

I like the places and thoughts.
"For winter's cold to soon abate
To see exploding green of Spring
Or simply January thaw
Impatiently I scream for more"
Winter make us wish for the green earth to come alive again. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
