Flag Waving Racist

Flag Waving Racist

A Chapter by Donald Meikle

I wish I was competent enough to express my feelings of freedom of living in united states of America.

The joy I felt when strangers walking by said good morning and meant it. Watching as everybody stepped aside or opened doors for older or burdened others.

Democrats, Republicans, and Independents elected representatives who actually tried to do what their voters expected and their conscience and country  desired.

Oddly enough the ones who managed to succeed at this were more likely to be re-elected.

The people expected their government to work together to enact laws and programs that were non partisan. Parties were political groups that representatives used in elections- - Not in government.

My family came here to be free of excessive government, excessive taxation, and totalitarian union power.

And we were, we really were, Then.

               Now?

Now I'm a disabled American veteran, and too damned dependent on the Social Security check and retirement money to even attempt to be non politically correct.or racist un-American Tea Partyish after all he is the first black president.  Somehow that excuses him from every mistake he makes.  ( Bush probably caused it anyway)

Truman ran my America.  Ike laid his life on the line for us and then became president  to do a fair job of it.

Like I said  I wish I was competent enough to instill those feelings in the americans of today.

my Dad was a Ronald Reagan fan, even in spite of the water gate thing, and whatever color the skin of the president doesn't much matter if the man is a socialist, rumors are he is in think with Chavez, and I would be willing to bet that Bin Laden is living somewhere safe and sound in his pocket, I had a fit over his immediate execution, I wanted the trial and I wanted to see him incarcerated because I dont trust Obama and Chavez not to have him hidden away somewhere, now they say Chavez is dead and there is a new president in VA, but i wonder if moles aren't milling around underground, I do not trust anyone when it comes to the bartering of land and oil. Obama is draining this country, and I even wonder if there is even a stick of gold in fort knox. Ps...Good morning :)

during our life we have witnessed the slow sinking of another ship that wasn't going to sink...casting our eyes into the future, it looks like water water everywhere and no land in sight...thanks Donald

Frank, and startling. I have to read the whole book. The narrative is firm and almost dispassionate. And, yes, I am a bleeding heart liberal.

Nice write.
