So So

So So

A Poem by Donald Meikle

It's nae s'bad a day

Midst the ice bound leafless bushes

Flicker small puffs of birds

Pecking at almost invisible buds

River water flows over ice

That  yesterday held it in thrall

Snow has melted almost everywhere

Buds have too boldly opened on

Rhododendrons

Whilst others wait in measured

Patience

Tis nae tha' bad a day

At all
