I enjoy the ride you take me on here, Don. The inspiration of classic shapes of objects, of creatures, of words is a fascinating theme, but in this poem I`m looking for more from you. You`ve whetted my appetite....and I want it to go on, expounding and expanding. What about it, mate? P.

In a line drawing it's all about truth and fairness of line and the matching of viewpoints to achieve success. The fireplace has height width and depth with ratios to allow smoke to be drawn up and heat to shine out. Archways and stone should allow for some ground shudder to compress them into more strength depending on the shapes of the stones. That's masonry as I learned it. As to artistic views of life,,,,,,,,,, It's what I see now after having tried to depict it. It was written to make you want more

oceans and rivers do that. My uncle drove the Mersey ferry.
This poem hit the spot. I've just been down to the docks to look at boats. There is a solid satisfaction in knowing these points of reference...knowing craft like a craftsmen or artist. I did get a little caught up in line 6, and had to read it a couple times, but that could just be my reading. It might be cleaned up a bit by making a choice, stone arch or fireplace, but it’s such a small thing, in an otherwise perfect poem. Well done.
