A Thank You Note

A Thank You Note

A Poem by Donald Meikle

An ode to poets who have been

Then stop to spend their time

Exposing what their souls have seen

Encasing them in rhyme

To see a black and yellow bird

Play she loves me loves me not

With sunflower petals picked

Or mayhap a weeping rose

In morning heavy dew

To fill another soul with joy

Is really nothing new

It's simply spending stolen time

and why I'm thanking you.

' To see a black and yellow bird ~ Play she loves me loves me not ~ With sunflower petals picked ~ Or mayhap a weeping rose ~ In morning heavy dew '..
anyone who notices such gentle and beautiful actions deserves to be praised, enjoyed, remembered.

Happily sighing .. with thanks.

im amazed that 18 people viewed this and didn't bother to leave a review...shame on them.
I stumbled across you...read a few things I was impressed by and then this one which has such a wondrous tone to it...that second verse is something else

'or mayhap a weeping rose'

great..thanks for writing.
