Was

Was

A Poem by Donald Meikle

Day dreamin'

Sippin'

Slippin'

Into mellow musin'

Safe in the knowledge no one's lookin'

Or listenin'

Able to fly an' wing it.

Alone

Wonderin'

What's next?

As pain slips away

In wine's after- taste

The day

slips away

Smilin'

Historicly.
