Nocturne

Nocturne

A Poem by I.R.
"

It just materialized while listening to a song...like most of the time.

"

It swishes in and out like a sigh,

Breathing in, breathing out,

As the sky shrivels into a purple

Pansy, a thought drying like fruit,

Collapsing into itself to explode

Into glass and shards of old fears

And light that shimmers like hooks

As we stand in the black ocean

Untangling our hair from the salt

In the air, waiting for the honey dawn

To reappear like a curious blackbird

In our backyard, mundanely necessary.

Great poem, filled with powerful words, yet there is
something sweet and unspoken here.
Keep up the good work:).
