school day and senior hall

A Poem by amelia.elaine
"

this is about an old friend, who i wasn't planning on being friends with again. but as you can tell after reading the poem. that plan changed

"

her voice was still sweet and sincere, like she never stopped caring
i felt a little guilty, for the way i mistreated her at the end of last year
i told myself i'd be polite, and say hello
but hello turned into small talk, small talk turned into a conversation
a conversation led to laughing and walking to class

her hair was a different color, she was a tad bit thinner
but it was the same old soul inside
we'd both changed over the summer, i missed her laugh
and her unperfect smile, and the dent in the center of her chin
i vowed this year, i'd be a better person, a nicer person

and what started as being polite, turned into the friendship we'd left behind
i'm not sure how to talk to her about it, or what to say
if i should speak the truth, or simply write it down

what started off a normal day, with a ruiten plan
turned out to be, a reuniting of souls that had parted

what happens next, only destiny can tell
