This Morning

This Morning

A Poem by lily platycorn
"

I was walking down to my bus stop for school the other morning in autumn and it was just like i describe it. I scribbled it on the bus.

"
A bird chirped cheerfully
As I walked down the street
Spare leaves cluttered the sidewalk
A crow cawed tearfully
It swished past, so fleet
The sky was a deep deep blue
Like the wings of midnight gone
Slowly it lightened into dawn
And soon the sky was light
With pink and lavender hues
And hints of pale grey blues
The richest ray of gold
And as it poured into day
The hills began to fold
And in the splendor of the day
The bus picked me up
And I was swept  away.
