chapter 18

"Lily are you going to marry victor and if so when cause i want to be a maid of honor." Emma told Lily quickly.

"I know i am i just don't know when." Lily said.

"I think we should get married after lily goes to college." Victor said. He sat close to lily with his hand running thought her hair."

"I think Zadia should go be put down for a nap. Babe can you do it for me. I'm really tired." Lily said to Victor.

After victor left Emma began asking about Nate. "So you and Nate get along still. I would never guess that you would even let him touch Zadia."

"Well it is still his child by blood and he can see her if he wants. He loves her. Like he should. We are like brother and sister. Now." Lily thought about talking to Nate about that. She wanted to be friends with him.


"Victor is OK with you and Nate being friends. After he reacted to you having Nate child it makes no sense." Emma said carefully. "Zadia should be in preschool by the time she is 3. You could prepare her for it. Like your mother did. You knew how to use scissor before any of use." Emma thought back to their childhood.

"Yes i will prepare her. My mom can help too. Zadia will play the cello when she gets old enough I play for her alot. She really likes it." Lily thought about Zadia smile as she watched Lily play the cello. "She enjoys it most when Nate comes over here for lessons. Or the other kids." Lily had began teaching kids cello lessons she had started teaching them years ago. She loved the look on kids face when she played difficult and long songs. They loved it when she told them that they to could learn how to play songs like that. Mary Addams was learning quickly. Lily thought.

'Hi Lily oh hi Emma." Nate said cheerfully. "I thought i would stop by and you know talk to you guys. Wheres Zadia?" He asked.

"She taking her nap." Victor said from the bottom of the stairs. "I hope your hungry. I was about to start cooking some Ratatouille." Victor was getting pretty good at cooking. He loved cooking with Lily. Lily had learned everything she new from her dad. When her dad came down from Seattle he would help teach Victor how to cook.

"Thank you. Oh and make a bottle for Zadia for later. Put it in the fridge." Lily called to Victor. 

"I can do that." Nate got up to help.

"OK fine there is cartons of breast milk in the fridge. You can find a funnel in the top drawer and clean bottles are in the bottom cupboard." Lily told Nate the instructions smoothly.

'OK" Nate called back from the kitchen.

"I can't believe how well we all have adjusted. My mom watches Zadia when we are at school. Victor is at his physical therapy so his body can cope with all the chemo and radiation. I try all the time to make her life the best it can possibly be."

"You don't have to be perfect to be a perfect parent." Emma said careful not to say something wrong.
