Far Away

All the things I chase seem to be hard to reach.

'Chase your dreams'

is an easy piece of advice

people throw it on the floor 

puff out their chests

and quote friends of friends

who make money

good money

and I thank them sincerely 

and try to feel inspired.

But I have little to chase

and what is a dream

except something I have already lost

blind trust, I hesitate 

before I raise my hand

and singing a croaky F sharp

and sit back down

for fear of being crushed 

before I can dream
