You Found Me

You Found Me

A Poem by Lilian Christine Colby

I love you because you are the only light in my life.

Day after day,

I walk around.

Dead inside, continuing my daily routes, nothing exciting.

Same bland and Boring faces.

Nothing special,

This was my life.

WAS, meaning the past.

One day I came to school, and saw your bright and handsome face.

For the first time in High School,

I felt a glint of happiness,

like there was hope for me after all..

You walked up to me, and said Hello.

My first Ray of sunshine of the year has finally arrived.

Handsome. Extravagant. Everything perfect.

With your southern twang,

All the grey and Black finally disappeared

I finally came out of the black and white T.V.

Finally, I see in color, bright, beautiful colors.

The most important color in my life,

is you.

Red and Pink and purple.

Then you finally said it.

“I Love You”

you said

“I love you because you are beautiful,

and amazing,

and the best

and most precious thing that I've ever had in my life.”

I was Awestruck and in a haze staring into your beautiful deep blue eyes,

your Light Brown hair

I Love You, because you are the missing half of my soul.

I love you most of all

you are my one and only

you are my knight in shining tinfoil

“Where have you been my life?” I ask

I was stuck in a mud pit in south Alabama <3
