A captivating darkness rises from the outer edges of our world
Bringing forth doom and gloom and fury an opressive force swallowing souls
Turning the sky gray, sending humanity to it's knees
A force of destruction from out of the shadows the beast did rise
To bring forth a world's demise

An unstable menace set on bringing mankind to its mercy
Flee for your freedom but there is no where to hide
It will find you no matter where you go
A wide spread pandamonium an epidemic on the rise
Where are the heroes now

Monstrosity at large death spreading like blood in the water
A world's population begins to dwindle as the evil grasps ever tighter
Overcome by disperity and dread where to go from here
Holding out hope for a safe haven in which to wait out the storm
There is no such thing

The search for a cure always leading to a march towards defeat
An unescapable disease a product of sin and desire
Survival is ever so brief you will be found again and buried
The ultimate punishment for those who disobeyed and even the unsuspecting
The end is here the winner is the beast and now it's time to close your eyes and fade away
Say good bye to these days

interesting composition. I like the descriptions and the harmony between paragraphs. "A captivating darkness rises from the outer edges of our world", your intro line is very strong, darkness and the things of it ARE captivating to most people. Your choice of the words Rises, and Outer Edges, gives the early sign of suddenness and Evil. A literary tool that is usually missed is to introduce the setting without being to revealing or predictable. Great Work
