A.A. (Alcoholism Alluring)A Poem by Lily Martinmy (ex) bf wrote itWhy do you poison your body even if it gives you that all time high
Lead your life so strong but yet you waste half your potential at the bar Responsibility slips through your hands like liquid pleasure pouring from the bottle Let it boost your self-esteem but ultimately reveal you for the coward that you are The alcohol it allures you; makes you; rules you The addiction it controls you; breaks you; traps you Wake up in your bed not sure how you got there Amazing or disasterous the night before is long forgotten Why do you torture your body so much for what you can't even remember Inebriation will take its toll soon these days will grow old The alcohol is allures you; shakes you; scares you The addiction it consumes you; devours you; defeats you Why can't anyone see It's a disease not a deity You are invisible not invincible Cowardly not courageous Your habits breed sorrow not sanctity When will you be able to see the pain that you cause When will you be strong enough to throw out the bottle and walk away When will you realize these weekends out will someday catch up to you When will you be able to see through sober eyes like me --- If you can't have fun without something as damaging as alcohol then is it really fun Drink up to wash away your problems you're only opening the door to so many more Just because nothing bad happened last weekend doesn't mean all hell won't come crashing down on the next Responsibility or not it will eventually get you © 2009 Lily MartinAuthor's Note
