They say love comes and goes

Like how the waves come and go

But with you

My love has come but it never has gone

You have shown me many things

Like how to open up

How to truly be myself

To that I thank you very much

 

The moment my eyes met yours

I knew it would either be love or lust

I now know, it’s greater than love and

Nothing less than lust

I don’t know how to explain it

I don’t even know if you could call

It true love

 

But what I feel for you

Can’t be covered up

My heart races when I’m with you

My palms get sweaty

And all that matters is that

You’re right there

 

I’ve taken many things for granted

I’ve even taken us for granted

I’m not going to anymore

I’m here to stay

And I now realize so are you

If you weren’t,

You would have left a long time ago

 

I love you

And that’s all that matters

hmm. a very promising piece. it exudes a type of simplicity that is very refreshing to readers. although, i have to say, this could've been deeper and more dynamic with a little tweaking.
