Past

Past

A Poem by Arwen Evenstar

I awake at night
Startled
I can still hear your laughter
Are you here or is it just my
Mind playing tricks?
All the things you did
All the bad memories
Surface the top
And now it's all I can do but to scream
You caused so much pain
And now you think I'm the bad guy?
You abused and used me
And you want me to be okay with that?
You want me to pretend like it
Never happened
I can't pretend,
It really did happen
As I move into my future
I want you to be in the past
I want you to stay there
I can never be your friend again
I'm sorry it has to be this way
I can't take these nightmares
The nightmares of all the things
You did to me
I no longer want to be a part of that
I want it all to be gone
To help with that
It would be nice if you
Leave me alone
And stay in my
Past
