This is a poem about depression and how it can be hidden so well that you wont know that something is wrong.

Do Something

Sometimes you can’t tell what’s hidden behind long sleeves and a smile,

So don’t make jokes about things that don’t understand,

It’s not cute, fun, or beautiful.

 

It’s not a joke,  

It’s not for attention,

If it was for attention we would do it in front of you,

We would flaunt it in front of you.

 

So be quiet if you don’t understand,

Because when you don’t understand you make assumptions,

And when you don’t understand you hurt people,

When you hurt people they consider their options.

I love how honestly the message has been presented. We often look at the outside things and make comments about their outside appearance even if we do not understand the reason behind them. We may not realize the effect of our comments but to those whom we make the comments to get broken more and more and take the last road of life.

Very true message and absolutely important for every one of us to understand...
