Our Mother Earth

Our Mother Earth

A Poem by Ana Day
"

Stay green folks

"
We ignore the real issues,
putting our focus on this idea of a wall.
Who you trying to keep out?
Or rather keep in?
What about the life around us suffering?
Nothing is being done,
and mother earth is being destroyed.

We litter this earth with our filth,
leaving no stone unturned.
We will not stop.
The human mind is full of greed,
and they have a need, indeed.
To eradicate the land to which we swore to protect
their wish to build houses and corporate buildings,
Pushing wildlife and plants out.
All we want is more
Can we not be happy with what we have?
Must we destroy the only good thing?
We were given a chance to do better as humans,
but we don't even deserve a chance.
We are destructive and ungrateful
and soon to be taught a lesson.
