How do you explain to someone

who's never felt the cut

or shared the sting

what it's like to battle the monster?

How do you explain what it's like

to destroy yourself

to dehumanize yourself

simply for a puff of smoke?

We are broken, shattered people

How do we explain that we need it

Simply because it makes us feel

Like we are whole again?

I guess I simply can't make them understand...
