The Monster

The Monster

A Poem by Nami Machae
"

The likes of temptation are more than you could ever know

"
A puff of smoke
Swirling through the air
White as snow
How did it become like this?
A one time thing becoming a want
And eventually a need

Stumbling around the empty room
Of a daughter miles away
Lost because a puff of smoke
Became more of a necessity
Than her

Falling in an empty bed
Grabbing a pipe
Another puff of smoke
Swirling through the air
Turning everything black

Losing it all was never worth it
For a mere one time thing
That controls your life
Forever being known as
The monster

I like this one. One can connect with it because almost everyone knows someone who has gone through this.

I liked the ending,
"Losing it all was never worth it
For a mere one time thing
That controls your life
Forever being known as
The monster"
Nice word choice that creates a very nice flow to the poem. Great job!

Interesting, on the first paragraph the character describes a scenario that is relevant to how spirits manifest and travel.

On the second paragraph, the character describes it became more important to know what other people don't know.

Now from the following of the poem, am confused
"Falling in an empty bed
Grabbing a pipe
Another puff of smoke
Swirling through the air
Turning everything black "

and then the fourth paragraph where the monster could be the spirit manifested?
"Losing it all was never worth it
For a mere one time thing
That controls your life
Forever being known as
The monster"
