science of emotion

science of emotion

A Poem by lillian

in her head
what does she think?
is it tales of the past
or the future's mingling?
does she worry of acts
that will soon take place?
the definition in her forehead?
the wrinkle in her face?
maybe her head
is stuck in the past
that wrinkle exists
from a prominent task
how to hide it
how best to conceal
if there's an eraser
that removes prideful zeal
but no, indeed,
she thinks of the now
the lotion on her hand
the possibility of somehow.
she dives head first
into the air
the oxygen breathing
the effortless biosphere
and yet as she submerges,
her hair now a brick,
her head starts to wonder
as the candle wax turns thick.
the clock may be paused,
but her brain is ever active
twisting the gears
in a manual, mental captive
