Spared

Spared

A Poem by SpiceCookie
"

A summer's flower bud.

"
I am a summer's flower bud
in the midst of winter.
"How? How have you survived?" they ask.
"What saved you?"

It was the mother earth who answered.
"It was not that she was saved,
but that she was spared,
because she grew her roots the deepest from the beginning."
