In YouA Poem by SpiceCookieIn you, I see...
In you, I see light.
Green, fresh and crisp, just sprouted from the new buds of spring. Touched with sunlight, glowing, swaying, dancing. Yellow, golden and sunny. Carefree joy, untouched and pure, singing, beaming, warm. Fuzzy and soft. Pink, pastel and neon, humming, sometimes screaming for attention, sometimes quiet but gentle. Sweet, delicate, loving. Turquoise and Teal, calm and whispering, tranquil and hopeful, dreamy. In you, I also see darkness. Black, the way emptiness finds its way inside you. The anxiety, the holes in your heart. Sometimes I'm afraid of the black, afraid it'll tear you apart. Grey and blue, gloomy and forlorn. When you ignore me, When the pain and sadness takes over and all you can see is fog. Red, the angry kind. It wants to burst out, but you hold it in, and the energy it takes pushes away everything else. Green, of jealousy. Of envy and the way you pull away in hurt, the potion bubbling inside for you to claim what is yours. In you, the light shines through. But without darkness there could be no light. I watch you fight the hard battles every day to find the light in the darkness. And when you smile, I see in you that you've won.
