Fallen LeafA Poem by SpiceCookieThoughts of a fallen leaf.
My mother abandons me.
She turns me beautiful, but then drops me from her branches. I float to the ground. I feel like decor that isn't needed, now that I'm not fresh and green anymore. A rake sweeps me away. I'm joined by all my brothers and sisters in a colorful pile as autumn fades. My mother stands above me. She's tall but plain, proud but empty. I am a fallen leaf. I'm pretty but useless, surrounded but alone.
