Snow Day

Snow Day

A Poem by SpiceCookie
"

I couldn't wait for the next snow day, so I just made one of my own!

"
Sunlight peeks through my window.
I look out to the street.
Showered in sparkling white
is the powdered sugar that fell from the clouds last night.
I race out to
pick up a handful.
The cold of it bites me
before it slowly disappears into liquid.
I hear the powder crunching gently
under my feet.
It stops when I stop,
followed by complete silence.
No singing birds
or roaring car engines.
Just silence.

It's a free verse poem, so there is no rhyme, and if there is no punctuation mark at the end of a line, keep going to the next line without stopping.

This is a good one. I love the details about the day when the snow falls at your place. Thank you for sharing this cool poem :)
