Errand Hang Out

Errand Hang Out

A Poem by Vee
"

the best dates are with our friends!

"
You and your friend go to the store when the sky is so dark even the stars are struggling to peek through. You and your friend take a trolley each and race through the empty aisles where nobody can hear your laughter or your thoughts spinning. You and your friend stare at the chocolate lined up perfectly in front of you. your mouth salivates involuntarily greed. they pick out your favourite and drop it in the trolley. You and your friend notice the dark circles beneath the eyes of the cashier so stave your laughter to make their night easier. your friend pays. You and your friend do errands together because it is the only time you ever see each other. You miss them when they drive off without you. They miss you when you can no longer be seen in their rear view mirror. You and your friend dont see each other for a week. Your perfume lingers in their car. The chocolate they bought sits in your fridge.
