A Story by Lilith Rayne

Why can't you see the pain that shines so deep behind her eyes? Do you purposely ignore it or can you not see the signs? The scars that cross her wrist... Her downcast eyes... The tears that stain her pillow at night, as she misses your touch and wishes she could disappear... her pain is real, why do you just back away? Why do you pretend not to see her torment? The way her eyes search yours... Her longing to cling to you... Her restraint for fear of your words and hating herself for not reaching out for you... Her torment shreds her heart and breaks down what's left of her strength, why won't you love her? Only you can heal her pain, but you don't help her... Instead, you watch her fall to the ground at your once worshipped feet, claiming that is her place as your love, below you, weak and inferior. She has no will left to fight your horrid wishes, no defense left against your attack on her already wounded heart. At your feet she will stay, enslaved by her traitorous heart and void of mind. You have won, she fought valiantly to keep from drowning in your hazel eyes, but ultimately she was defeated, and you keep her broken, enslaved at your feet.
