Bloody Broken HeartA Poem by FaithWelcome home. You are here to stay. But me, I am only passing through. You won't remember my name...But I will remember yours. We kissed in the pale moonlight And held hands as we walked through the cemetery. You were happy, high on life. I was indifferent and cold. Somewhere, in the atmosphere A crow called your name You said you had to go I wasn't surprised Still, something kept us there Suspended between life and death Something between a memory and a dream But consciousness was dim You kissed my lips and said not to worry You said we would meet again I knew it was a lie But it was comforting We parted ways, You into the fog and I rejoined the shadows Consumed by cold and desire Your warmth was gone I mourned, but did not wait I wept, but felt no relief The pain, the nausea, all consumed me like a disease And somewhere, in this distant spiral of the galaxy, You smiled at me, The way you smiled at a thousand before me The way you will smile at a thousand after And I, soulless and enamored, Reached inside my chest and ripped out my heart.
