Victorian Lace

Victorian Lace

A Poem by Faith

I was here all along

The dark song of my soul

Written in the diary of an angel

My means for letting go

You told me to stop crying

That you’d be alright

Turn away. Don’t you stay.

This isn’t your fight

Victorian lace

Out of place

Hiding in the dark

Just give me a place

To paint my face

Paint over the scars

Summer died and winter came

It’s been far too long

My tears are endless

Ever since you’ve been gone

I hate myself

Feel I am to blame

Draped in black and locked away

I sacrifice to shame

Victorian lace

Out of place

Hiding in the dark

Just give me place

To paint my face

Paint over the scars

Can I lay on your grave?

Will you allow me to stay?

Or will you make me go away?

So I keep on believing

Keep on deceiving

Myself that he’s you…

Very rythmically enchanting, but I think it lacks a more profound dimension, a more special subject than what I can pick up from it. Sounds very musical.

Thank you. :) I actually was attempting to compose a song, but it turned into a poem instead.

Though you would lay on my grave, I would not be there.

Thank you so much. :)
Even when winter is coming we hope for spring. We hibernate during those emotional winter's of our discontent. This is extremely forlorn and anyone who has any emotional crisis- along with that feeling of isolation can certainly relate to this.
