there was time for us to blame

there was time for us to blame

A Poem by J. C. Alvares

Through night and day she wept. Sometimes she could see.

There was nobody there.

No one to blame for nobody would care.

From time to time she would smooth the covers of the bed and clean the nightstand. She would sit and cry.

She would just fall asleep.

And when she did, she would see.

There was nobody there.
