Can you tell

Can you tell

A Poem by libby lou

Can you tell when you look at me my heart is being broke
Can you see in my eyes all the words I've never spoke
Can you see my teardrops falling whenever you see my face
Can you feel the pain in my heart that keeps building every day
Can you tell I've loved and lost and that I have been used
Can you see the mistakes I've made
And all the times I've not been true
Can you hear me pray at night or scream when I cry
Can you feel it when you talk to me
That I've asked God to let me die
Can you feel my breath upon your neck
When I need a hand to hold
Can you hear all my secrets in which I've never told
Can you see my knees get weak every time I hear your name
Can you see that to me it's everything but a game
Can you hear his words of sorrow that I keep bottled within
Can you smell the scent of blood crawling beneath my skin
Can you tell that I give up on the love that's still unfound
Can you tell me why I try just to be pushed down
Can hear me when I ask for help or feel me take your hand
Don't you even know I'm here--this girl no one understands
