She grew into her mothers faceA Poem by Lilaa
She grew into her mothers
face, her hips so spherical, her skin as silky smooth as a politicians lie, her lips so voluminous and her eyes so mesmerizing So why can't she love herself? why is it that society feels as if they have the audacity to sit there and pick on your flaws as if you were meant to be born flawless? well, darling you are flawless, grow to love your skin the way your skin wants to be seen, love yourself the way you would love another, become one with the crowfeet forming on the side of your eyes, develop a bond with the bags under your eyes and relish the dark red veins that burst under your eyes like misconceptions when presented with reality See darling, the truth is no amount of surgery will fix your inner self worth within, no doctor will help diagnose the truth you are hiding so well, no amount of hair dye or fake eyelashes will capture society's view on you, unluckily society will always be against you, they will place the wrecking ball on your chest and slam you for not being able to take it off So darling I say, you are the image of your mother, you are the cells of your father, you are the Pablo Picasso on my wall, a master piece of truth and beauty
